Frank Morano Unofficial Visit to City Hall as Councilman-Elect
A First Step Toward Change at City Hall
For Frank Morano, walking into City Hall has never been unusual. But walking in as a newly elected representative of Staten Island? That hits differently, especially when it’s not because security is escorting him out.
On May 1st, Frank returned to City Hall for the first time since winning the special election, marking a significant step forward before officially taking office. While he’s not sworn in just yet, the visit offered a chance to begin getting oriented — and to connect with future colleagues.
“It was an incredible experience to shake hands with fellow Councilmembers, including the Speaker, and to get a guided tour from my friend and fellow Staten Islander, Council Member David Carr,” Morano shared.
During the stated meeting, Minority Leader Joann Ariola surprised Frank with a warm, unsolicited shoutout from the floor — a moment that caught him off guard in the best way. “I might owe her a coffee,” he joked. “Or three.”
The visit also included a conversation with former Councilman Vinny Ignizio and time spent building relationships with Republican members; Frank hopes to work alongside them soon.
“I’m feeling grateful, fired up, and I even know where the bathrooms are now.”
With this visit under his belt, Frank is more motivated than ever to serve the community with energy, common sense, and a clear plan to deliver for Staten Island.
Next Stop: Primary Day
Frank may have won the special election, but the journey isn’t over yet. A critical primary on June 24th stands between now and a full term on the Council — and Frank is counting on supporters to help finish the job.
