Some may know him from talk radio media; others, especially New Yorkers, know him for his stand against the out-of-control crime that plagued New York City in the 1980s. Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa is New York City’s red beret-capped crusader against crime, but he is more than that, and he knows where to place his trust.

Frank and Curtis know each other intimately from decades in the talk radio industry. Curtis acknowledges Frank’s success in the industry, but more importantly, the need for Frank to step away to pursue public office, saying, “He is not a politician, you know people might say he is not a politician, No, he is a selfless servant, and he has been that way for years. He didn’t need an elected office to be selfless. That’s the way he is.”

Frank stands for Republican ideals, but more than that, he stands for the district and its constituents, and this is reflected in Mr. Sliwa’s endorsement with him furthering, “Frank has done outreach for years. He is everyone’s man. Meaning, they know that he will treat them fairly, respectfully, and even if he disagrees, which he often time will, it will be done with a modicum of respect that you never see in politics.”

As an icon of the fight against out-of-control crime in the 1980s under a Democratic mayorship, and with fears of such a situation returning, Curtis knows where to place his support, and that is with Mr. Morano and his support of the NYPD, aggressive policing, and returning to a system that punishes the most dangerous criminals to society. We can never return back to the lawlessness of the 1980s.

In May 1977, Curtis Sliwa created the “Magnificent 13”, a civilian group dedicated to combating violence and crime on the New York City Subway. The Magnificent 13 grew and was renamed the Guardian Angels in 1979, a group known for wearing red berets and taking an unarmed approach to standing up to criminal offenders that plagued New York City. Mr. Sliwa and his group provided the city with a notion that even the average citizen could take a stand against crime. He later became a successful radio host, and while running unsuccessfully but doing remarkably well for NYC mayor in 2021 against a slate of dirty and DSA opponents, he plans to take another run in 2025.
