On Saturday, August 2, I had the honor of joining the Korean-American Association of Staten Island to inaugurate their new president, Mr. Jung Min Lee. This was a historic moment as Mr. Lee became the Association’s 20th president, continuing a proud tradition of leadership and service in our community.
It was an inspiring ceremony filled with family, friends, and neighbors who gathered to celebrate Mr. Lee’s swearing-in and the incredible contributions Staten Island’s Korean-American community has made to our borough. From small businesses to cultural organizations, their impact is felt in every corner of Staten Island.
I was proud to present a City Council Proclamation recognizing this important occasion and honoring the outgoing president, Mr. Sang Ho Lee, for his years of dedication and leadership.
Staten Island is strengthened by its people’s diversity, and the Korean-American community exemplifies that strength through its commitment to education, family, faith, and service. I look forward to working with President Lee and the Association to continue building bridges, fostering understanding, and making our borough an even better place to live.
Congratulations once again to President Jung Min Lee, and heartfelt thanks to the Korean-American Association of Staten Island for welcoming me to be part of this special day.
