What can be said of Joe Borelli that has not already been said. A literal firecracker in a city of duds, Joe burst on the scene in 2012 in the wake of Hurricane Sandy’s destruction to represent the South Shore in the Assembly. Afterwards, he moved on to municipal government, representing Staten Island in a bold way in the City Council, becoming a mouthpiece for local issues through national media, and working to advance and expand Republican representation in the Democratic-party monopolized Council.

Joe is no stranger to Frank, the two having been friends for years. In Councilman Borelli’s own words regarding his own intimate relationship with Frank, “every once in a while, like once a month, twice a month, I’ll go to Frank Morano’s house on like a Sunday morning, and sit there over coffee and sometimes we will play ping pong, and we stopped because he actually started getting better than me. I actually took my ball and went home.” While that seems wholesome, what Joe follows in saying is the frosting on the cake. “.. will talk about every single issue that affects politics. That affects Staten Island. That affects the city. And I have done this over the years because he is the smartest, the most intellectual, and cerebral person I know who has this encyclopedic knowledge of NYC and state politics. He has that. And he also has something you are all aware of, a desire to make this community better.

Councilmember Borelli has been an elected official representing the South Shore for over a decade and during that time, he has been a stalwart defender of the district, the island, and furthermore, conservative ideas. Appearing in local print outlets, local television and even more national news, he has never been afraid to voice his opinions while always placing his views of this district paramount.

That is why when he offers his endorsement of Frank Morano, we should for one of those rare times, sit back and listen to the opinion of a politician. Councilmember Borelli, who has performed a fantastic job in advancing the cause of the 51st Council District, presenting an immutable voice for reform, advancing and expanding conservative leadership and ideals in the Council, and being a constant face in his own district is moving on. For that reason, his endorsement of Frank Morano is all that more important.

In Councilman Borelli’s own words regarding his City Council departure and endorsement of Frank Morano, “I am happy that I am leaving because I know as a constituent of the South Shore, we will have someone who will bring intelligence, integrity, respect, and I know, an ability to deliver the results we all need.” If there is anyone who knows the South Shore more than Joe Borelli, it is Frank Morano.

Joeseph Borelli, a Staten Island native began his political career through government focused programs in college, volunteering in campaigns, and ultimately earning positions in local government. In 2012, he won election to the New York State Assembly, which was followed in 2015 by a special election to the South Shore District of Staten Island, CD 51. Since then, Joe has made a name for himself in advocating for the importance and role of the GOP in municipalities, advancing the GOP cause, and supporting President Trump. For anyone in the South Shore of Staten Island, Joe Borelli has been a constant feature over the past decade, supporting local interests, while also working to expand GOP membership in the otherwise unfriendly DSA-dominated NYC City Council.
